1. Martial Arts
We offer a general adult martial arts class that incorporates modalities from ALL of the other martial arts programs we offer – and all of our students LOVE IT.
You’ll learn how to punch and kick properly, have a blast with fun-loving people, and break quite a sweat too. We condition at the beginning of class, run through drills and teach new skills, and then finish with a cool off.
You WILL get sweaty in this class- so if you’re just starting to explore martial arts and looking for the best martial arts for fitness, our Adult Martial Arts class could be the perfect fit for you.
2. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ) is a common form of martial arts practiced around the world. A BJJ student will learn more moves on the ground, leveraging their body through physics and motion to strategically fight an attacker that may be bigger and stronger than they are. BJJ is super popular when it comes to women’s self defense, too.
If you’re looking to work your core in particular, go with BJJ- lots of ground work = lots of core work! All who desire shredded abs, attend a BJJ class -might be the best martial arts for fitness for you.
3. Muay Thai and Krav Maga
Muay Thai and Krav Maga will both kick your butt into the next town over. Our Muay Thai classes are excellent for competitive fighters, as there are plenty of opportunities to compete.
Lots of punching and kicking and using your elbows and knees to attack as well. Krav Maga teaches effective and practical self defense in a bootcamp style, as this form of martial arts was originally developed in the Israeli army for the Israeli soldiers.
Both Muay Thai and Krav Maga are intense forms of training, and you’re sure to get a fantastic workout in each class – the best martial arts for fitness is dependent on if you want to compete and use elbows and knees, or if you want to focus more on real life self defense applications.
4. The Verdict
Our verdict? All of our martial arts classes offer excellent physical fitness and skill-building opportunities. They’re fast-paced, incorporate the entire body, and kicks and punches go pretty far in ramping up your metabolism.
